Having meatballs with gravy and bread is our regular Friday ritual. Me and Brenda, my good friend from our schooldays, head to our favorite restaurant, Vio Santo and take our usual table, and get waited on by our favorite waiter Jim. He's pretty special, although to be honest neither of us are sure whether he's really Italian or pretending! Even so it's a great place to be, and we make sure it's never missed.
However, last Friday was special, for that day Brenda told me something that I have suspected for last few days; she's going to have her first baby! She and her husband Steve are thrilled, and she has shown me the scan. It's a special moment for Brenda because she has always wanted to have a baby since I had my first, Ashley, 13 months ago, and now it's my turn to be happy for her, just as she was for me. They know it's a girl, so that sets me thinking - what should I buy as a gift?
When another of my friends had her first I remember buying her a crib set, and she was over the moon, so that night I set to looking around on the internet. I looked for modern crib sets - nobody spends too much on baby presents as they are outgrown before long - and knowing it's a girl I know what to look for. The first one that took my eye was the
Ladybug crib set - little girls love ladybug, butterflies, flowers etc. - but what really attracted me was the lovely brilliant designed
Cocalo crib set, a really nice set that would look great with any decor, though the price is little high. That's the one - sorted!
Brenda was really excited with her crib set - I gave it to her on our next visit to see Jim - and completely overawed that I'd thought of something so soon and so carefully. It's great to see friends happy and satisfied; it's what life's all about. Not only that, but she's asked me to help organise the christening party - now that's something I'm going to be good at!
